Random Playings

This week when we went to the park and down the trail, Gavin was looking for different types of leaves for a project he was working on.  He got it put together and I got this picture taken just in time because Austin found it not much later and tore off all the leaves!

Then he did a growth-of-a-tomato sequencing activity.

Austin is getting to be very scholarly, just look at his interest in books!

His shorts are a little big!  I switched him up to 12-18 month clothes and they are big on him but he'll grow into them by the end of the summer.  These shorts don't have much of a waist band so most of his pants do stay on a little better!

Today Dad stayed home and worked on digging out a new flower bed in the backyard by the patio.  Gavin and Calla had fun looking at the gigantic worms!

Gavin helped Dad smooth out the garden bed for a few minutes.

Then it was on to baseball!  Thank you Grandpa Ben and Grandma Sue for the awesome baseball set!  Gavin is thrilled with it!

He's not quite understanding that you have to actually touch the base, he more just goes by it.

Then the kids played downstairs for a while.  Here are some random pics.

Austin was very excited to find a bottle but could not figure out why he couldn't get anything out of it!

He also really enjoyed the tunnel!

And, Gavin is really into feeding his brother for some reason.  They both seem to enjoy it!

We're Back!

I got home Saturday night and have been in catch up mode since but we are finally getting back on our normal routine.  Sunday we had a lazy day around the house.  Gavin played on his tractor and Austin played in the grass. 

Yesterday, after finishing our laundry, we went to a local park and walked around for a little bit.  There are a ton of wildflowers out and they are really pretty!

We found this pretty flower everywhere!  We looked on the computer when we got home and think maybe it's a wild Sweet William?

We spent most of our time by the stream.  Gavin could throw rocks into the water all day long.

Austin mostly chewed on the binoculars but at least he wasn't chewing on the rocks!

Gavin took a few minutes to draw a picture of something he observed while we were there.

Today we went for a walk on the trail.  This was Gavin right after telling me to get out of the way before he ran into me...

I guess I should take less pictures!  Gavin got his first big scraped knee today.  He was trying to ride down the hill our house is on to get to the trail and started going too fast and forgot he had brakes and went down.  He had almost made it all the way to the bottom before he lost control.  Anyway, he still managed to have fun riding his bike!  We went all the way to the playground today and the kids had a great time!

Austin really wanted to chase Gavin up this little slide but he couldn't quite make it to the top!

I am very annoyed with myself because I had a few more really cute pictures and I accidently erased them off my camera!  Anyway, we had a good day!

Our Day

Today Gavin and I read some more books about plants and why they are important. We also did the old carnation in food coloring experiment.

Gavin's seal has a full head of hair already which is very exciting!

And, it's only mid-April and we got out the pool today! Gavin went to soccer practice and then we went about two miles on the trail so Gavin was ready to cool off!

After the boys bath we went back outside, which doesn't make any sense I know, but Gavin got a new bubble blower so he wanted to try it out and show Austin the bubbles.

I am going to out of town tomorrow and will be gone until Saturday evening so I won't be posting until next week most likely. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
