This afternoon we went down the trail and had lots of fun. We saw lots of birds and squirrels and even a couple butterflies! Gavin measured three trees and we talked about which one was the oldest, tree rings and how trees change each year.
Calla and I found a gigantic leaf lying in the trail!
Then we found a cluster of leaves all together.
Gavin found an Oak Apple Gall Wasp larva. He took it home and drew a picture of it in his nature notebook. We thought it was some type of seed but Dad figured out what it was and he opened it up so we could look inside. This is what it looked like but it's not the one we found:
