The Relocation of the Chickadees

This morning the boys and I watched an Eastern Bluebird checking out our birdhouse.  He kept flying close by and landing on it and looking around and walking from one side to the other.  Finally he went to the front and kept looking in the hole and finally he started going into the house.

So all this time we were wondering about the baby chickadee still left in the house and there was no sign of the parent chickadees.  Finally we checked and there was no baby in there.  He had his grown up feathers last week so he must have fledged one day.  I'm not sure what our chickadees are going to do for a nest tonight, but I think the bluebirds have decided to make it their home.  Poor chickadees!

Here's pictures of our bluebird.

I was trying to get a good shot of this hummingbird but a truck went by and scared it away.  I didn't see it again.

So we bid farewell to our chickadee friends and say hello to our new neighbors the bluebirds!
