Rock Pets

Gavin and Austin painted rock pets yesterday.  Gavin painted a frog and Austin painted a turtle.  Today we took our pictures with them and I sprayed them with clear arcylic spray paint so we can put them in the garden!

Gavin's was turning out so cute with all the pretty colors and then he did this:

Here's the finished project.

Today we played with Play-Doh.

Gavin always has a story to go with his creations.  He's more into imprints that creating things.

Austin loves the water table again this year.  Our art smock is coming in handy!

And, Austin got out the tunnel to play with!

We finished Charlotte's Web today at lunch.  Gavin wasn't at all bothered by the fact that Charlotte dies at the end.  I kind of thought he wouldn't be.

Last week we read through the Magic Tree House Book Good Morning Gorillas.  These books are okay.  The first books in the series are good and have a lot of factual information in the story but as the series goes on they get more and more irrelevant.
Yesterday we started Lightfoot:The Story of an Indian Boy by Katherine Shippen.  It's copyright date is 1950 and I can't find a picture of it but it's about a little boy growing up in an Iroquois village.
