Gavin worked a little more on making change this morning.  Today he sold me a can of pumpkin, hot cocoa mix, a jar of baby food, sticky tack and a notebook.

In January I had stopped at one of those stores that sells calendars in the middle of the mall because everything was 75% off, and I found this cool 3D Eiffel Tower puzzle.  I got it knowing we would be studying France this year.  We didn't have time to put it together yesterday so we worked on it today.  It said for ages 8 and up but Gavin had no trouble with it.  Working together it took us about 30 minutes, and most of that time was spent popping out the spaces in the 'wall' of the tower because they came as a solid wood page.  It's hard to explain but we had a good time putting it together although it made our thumbs a little sore by the end.  Gavin loved this!

All those little pieces on the table were what we had to pop out of the walls.

And, because it's in our house, it immediately was used by knights.

Adelaide does not understand why her brothers leave their things in the middle of the floor so she has to crawl over them but she is determined to go through them and refuses to go around them.

We read the first couple chapters in this book today.

We didn't do science today.  We are going to start savannas next week.  There was a show on PBS last night about how knights made swords and how they fought so we let Gavin stay up late to watch so we had a little easier day today to compensate.
