Penguin Math

Austin has been practicing his penguin matching the last couple of days.  He still enjoys the penguin pictures matching but now he's started another penguin matching game with five penguins that look the same except for different colored hats and scarves.  I thought this might be a little tricky for him but it didn't seem to be.  He looked a little more closely at the penguins but still matched them with no problem.

After we had finished, Gavin asked Austin if he could watch him do his new matching game (Gavin had been outside while I worked with Austin earlier) so Austin nicely agreed.

Do you want to know why Austin gets so excited when he gets it right?  Because Gavin gets all excited clapping and cheering and Austin copies him.

Gavin did a penguin math page today too.  It was basically a color by number but each space had an addition problem he had to figure out.  The sums were only 1-8.  Gavin is good at adding and can do a lot in his head.

Austin spent some time coloring while Gavin worked on his worksheet.

We are still working on our Magic Tree House book.  We've spent a lot of time outside this week so it seems like we are going a little slower.
