It was back to our normal routine today, which was not easy after such a busy weekend!  Because we were so busy this weekend, I didn't change up Austin's tot trays but that's okay because he really enjoys the ones that are there.  We were also supposed to start a new letter this week but our printer isn't working so I don't have the things I need.  We will probably just continue to do 'A' this week and hopefully start a new letter next week.

Austin worked on his stamp matching.

Gavin read his blends and short words.

Then Austin did this apple shape matching game.

Gavin did his cursive writing.
Austin spent the rest of the 'school' morning playing his car matching game.  They do eventually end up in their parking spot but the cars get driven around a lot before they park.

In math Gavin had to divide numbers into groups of five and then make the number on his abacus.  This was a little tricky because he is used to thinking in 10s and not 5s.  We also reviewed place values, tens and ones.

We read a couple books about living in space today.  Then we did an experiment that we were supposed to do during moon week but I forgot!  We filled a pie plate with sand (our moon surface) and used marbles and rocks to drop into the sand to show how the moons craters are made.

Here are the books we read.
