We have a new member of the household...a little tiger swallowtail caterpiller named Monet!
Our neighbor brought it over after she found it in her parsley bed. Luckily, we just happen to have a little habitat just perfect for him. Austin quickly adopted little Monet has his own and he has been very dutifully feeding him fresh parsley because Monet has been eating a lot!
Austin regularly goes to check on Monet to make sure he is content. I'm no caterpiller expert, but judging by how much he's eating I think he's pretty happy. We are hoping he will soon form a chrysalis and turn into a butterfly! Gavin hasn't spent too much time with Monet. He checks on him every once in a while but they raised caterpillers into butterflies at school so it's not quite as exciting this time around.
We will let you know how it turns out!
In completely unrelated news, yesterday I went to our library's annual children's book sale and found this book that has been on Gavin's Amazon wish list for a year! We read it last night and he loved it! Best of all, it was only 25 cents!
