This morning, while Gavin was working on finishing his Delaware project, Austin worked on stacking.  He did a great job!

Then he worked on taking things in and out of a little house.

Then he stacked blocks.  He was able to stack up three before they fell.

Meanwhile, Gavin was working on Delaware in his state notebook (we are making it in a binder).  First we looked at the Lenape Indian website (they are called the Delaware Indians too) and watched Lenape dancing on YouTube.  Then Gavin colored a picture of Lenape Indians.
We've been looking at the visitor's guide for Delaware and today he cut out pictures of agriculture, scenery, history and fun places to see and glued them to the correct paper.

Then we made Jello because Jello was first made in Delaware!

Finally we worked on a Lenape Indian basket.  This is a random craft I found but it was fun!  We glued construction paper to a cereal box and Gavin decorated it with wacky mac, pom poms and markers.  Lenape Indians wore them on their heads which Gavin thought was really funny.

Okay, it's not exactly beautiful, be is was fun to make.  So next we are on to Pennsylvania.  We'll be learning about dairy farming, coal mining and white tailed deer and reading biographies of Mary Cassatt, Betsy Ross, Rachel Carson and Benjamin Franklin!
