This morning Austin worked on matching animals.  He has no problem matching them, but still needs help drawing the lines from one to the other.

He matched big 'E' to little 'E'.

He worked on identifying the numbers 1 and 2.

Then he placed one bird on the number 1 and two birds on the number 2.

Finally, he worked on identifying shapes.

Gavin did a color by letter using vowels.

I set out tiles and he counted them and 'wrote' the number using tally marks.

Then he identifyed the number as even or odd.

He used is abacus to match the dot cards.

Austin had fun in the space sensory bin.

Today was our last day of Indians so Gavin started his history notebook.  He drew 3 pictures about something he learned about Indians and then wrote a sentence about it.
The first picture was of a buffalo hunt and the sentence was, "Plains Indians hunt buffalo for food, clothing and tools."

His second picture was of a tepee and his sentence was, "Plains Indians lived in tepees."

While Gavin was working in his notebook, Austin played with star cookie cutters in Play-Doh.

Gavin's last picture was of a totem pole in front of a longhouse.  His sentence was, "Northwest Indians carved totem poles."

Today Austin and I read Busy Elephants three times!

We read this sesame street book.  It had 'E' for Elmo in it.

We finished the story of Noah.

We are really enjoying this book by Sally Ride!  It is super interesting!

That wraps up our second week of homeschooling!
