Today Gavin practiced writing cursive letter 'i'.  He also reviewed the sound letter 'u' makes.

Austin glued 'e' words onto a paper with a 'e' on it.

Then Austin colored a car red and pointed to the objects on the page that are red.
For math I put different color pegs in a row and Austin matched them.

Gavin got to work on an abacus.  He is learning how to group numbers into five to make it easier to count, both with tally marks and his abacus.

We finished our mural today.

Austin drove around looking cool while Gavin was coloring.
Then Austin did an art project.  He glued cotton balls onto blue paper to look like clouds in the sky.  I poured the glue into a bowl and let him paint the glue on to make it easier for him.
Today we studied the painting, Courtyard in a House in Delft, but Pieter de Hooch.  We talked about how artists paint daily life around them.  Gavin drew a picture of Jackson sleeping on the rug in front of the door.

Here is Austin's sky!
Today Austin and I re-read Busy Elephants.

We also read this book about Claude Monet.
Gavin and I read these books today.

We are reading about the Northwest Indians today.
