This morning, Gavin and Austin retold the story of Noah's Ark and the Tower of Babel using the flannel board.
Gavin reviewed his short vowel sounds.
In math we worked more on identifying sets of 10, even if they aren't in the same order and don't look the same. Gavin got a bunch of tiles and had to figure out if he had an even or odd number.
Here he is trying to find all the groups of 10.
Today we started Vikings. Gavin colored a picture for our timeline and added it to the wall.
After we read we Gavin made us a Viking lunch. He cut up some Danish cheese.
The recipe called for lemon springs which I couldn't find so we used lemon thyme instead.
He dipped some bass (it was what we had in the freezer, we were supposed to use trout) in our butter/herb mixture and then dipped it into flour and put in on the frying pan.
Here it is cooking!
Here is our finished Viking meal: fish (which turned out very tasty!), French loaf of bread (close enough), cheese and blackberries.
Today we re-read the Tower of Babel in our Bible before Gavin told the story on the felt board.
We read these books about Vikings.
We read another chapter of this book at lunch.
We are almost done with Swiss Family Robinson.
Austin and I read this book.
