We have spent the last two days outside!  Yesterday, Adelaide looked very cute as she sunned in the shade!

Here are a few other pictures from yesterday's activities.

I have no idea what Austin was up too in this picture.

He was telling me a story in this picture.

Today we went to the park.  It was beautiful outside and the boys had a great time!  And, to add to the excitement, a helicopter landed at the hospital that's just 1/4 mile down the road from the park!

When we got home Gavin cleaned the window screens for me.

Adelaide watched her big brother clean the screens.  She wasn't thrilled but she didn't cry for about five minutes!

When he was done he cleaned his bike.

I don't know what the boys were up too here but they were having a great time.

You can't really tell in this picture, but Austin's face was covered in mud.  So were his legs.  They had so much mud on them you couldn't even see his skin!

Just a few pictures today.  We are continuing to enjoy Spring Break but haven't been able to do much because Adelaide has been super fussy this week.  I'm not sure what is going on with her but if she isn't sleeping or being held (and a baby carrier doesn't work) she's fussing at us.  So, we haven't gotten out much.  Here are a few pictures of Adelaide fussing today!

While she was screaming because I set her down, Austin read his Thomas the Train book, completely ignoring the noise.

Gavin and I have been reading this book before bed.  It's really detailed, I think it's a middle school level book, but he wanted to read it.  I am not enjoying it that much but he seems to be and can answer my questions when I ask him so I guess he's understanding all the details of the Middle Ages...because it is very detailed.  Today we read about how castles were built and defended.

We are trying to read this book at mealtimes if I can get Adelaide to sleep through mealtime.

We also got our family pictures back that we had taken a few weeks ago when Adelaide was three weeks old.  The family pictures didn't turn out to well but we got a couple nice ones of the boys and the pictures of Adelaide turned out cute.  Here are a few of them:

This is the same picture as above but in full color...I like them both!

Civil War Train

I finally got around to uploading about 200 pictures from my cell phone to the computer, mainly because I wanted to post some pictures from today's activities. A train load of civil war reenactors headed to Shiloh, TN for the 150th anniversary of that battle came by the state capitol today, so Kristyn brought the boys to see it. That meant that I got to have lunch with them, and after the activities they also visited my office.

Before the reenactors arrived, Gavin and Austin shared a brief moment of rest with Adelaide's diaper bag as a pillow.

The boys enjoyed the car load of civil war (replica, I assume) cannons at the end of the train.

Austin was quite concerned with the noise of the train. So much so, that even twenty minutes after the train came to a halt, he still had his hands on his ears.
I hope Kristyn doesn't read this, because I don't want her to know that I'm getting her one of these dresses for Mother's Day. She'll look great tooling around town in her minivan wearing one of these little numbers.
Finally, the boys got the pictures taken with a couple of the reenactors. How exciting!

This week is Spring Break so we are enjoying the beautiful weather!  Gavin has soccer camp every morning and today we have spent all afternoon playing in the backyard.

This weekend Austin learned how to use the pedals on his tricycle.  Of course now he wants to ride the tricycle on the trail since his big brother rides his bike on the trial.  It does have a handle on the back so we will see, maybe we will try it.

But now the boys are able to ride their bikes together!

Adelaide looked very pretty at church on Sunday wearing her ballerina dress.

Since Gavin was at soccer camp this morning, Austin and I played 'Thomas and Friends: Cargo Fun'.  It's a color recognition game.  We had lots of fun and played it several times.

Austin made train sounds every time he moved his train.

Then Austin just played with the trains.

Yesterday I started to switch out Austin's activities in the school room when I realized...there's no school this week, it's Spring Break!  Austin found a puzzle I set out for him.  The pieces are minature foam letters and I put the letters of his name out for him.  He really liked this since he is learning to recognize his name!

Adelaide had some tummy time this morning and was mesmorized by her Black on White book.

Then she spent time just looking around.

After all that excitement, she had to take a nap...outside!
