Gavin finished his Thanksgiving Lapbook today! He did the final two activities and we pieced it together. One activity was a turkey sequencing wheel. First the turkey is raw, then cooked, then carved, then eaten :-) He figured that out fast enough!
Then we talked about what the Pilgrims ate on Thanksgiving and what we will be eating. I wrote down some of the things we will eat and Gavin drew pictures.
So here are some pictures of the final product. Gavin was really proud of himself, he did a great job!
Then Gavin and Kaitlynn each made a turkey using their hands and feet. Their feet became the turkey's body and their hands were the feathers. They both liked this project. Gavin loves anything with googly eyes for some reason, and Kaitlynn kept giggling at her turkey so I think she liked it too! She even the glued the feathers on mostly by herself, I just had to hold the paper still for her. Oh, and she loved the beak because it opened and closed.
Here's the final project. Kaitlynn would only show me the back of her turkey...
Kaitlynn has been running around saying gobble gobble ever since we came home with that turkey. It is so adorable!!! We put the turkey on the fridge and now she gobbles at the fridge. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteShe was really excited about it when she was making it too! I think it's the googly eyes :P
