Time for a Picnic and Songs

Yesterday we went to the park for a picnic. We ate sandwiches, cucumber and chips and then headed over to the playground. Gavin never did actually play on the playground, he and Austin played on the swings for a little while (Austin's first time on a swing) and then Gavin played with sticks in the sandbox the rest of the time. Austin enjoyed drinking his milk outside.

This morning, Gavin went to preschool and Kaitlynn spent her time either talking on the 'phone', a.k.a. whatever she had in her hand at that time, and singing into her microphone.

Then we sang "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". We tried this the other day and she really likes the hand motions. Today she started singing the 'Twinkle' part and doing the hand motions with me! Then we'd stop and she'd play for a little bit and she'd come back over saying 'Twinkle' and doing the hand motions so we'd sing it again.

And, Kaitlynn is practicing drinking out of a cup. We just wait until she's just about done with what's in her sippy cup, then take the lid off and let her practice drinking from the cup. She thinks this is very fun and is actually not too bad at it for a beginner.
